Personal Development (Staff)

The School supports its staff by funding activities that develop the individual and thereby the team, the school as a whole and the student experience.
Core or mandatory safety and knowledge-based development is identified through appraisal, the training matrix or induction and funded from the Ops Budget.  After that there are two types of development:

  • CPD awards.  CPD funds contribute to course fees or programmes of learning; local, residential or distance learning.
  • Discretionary travel awards.  These funds pay travel and subsistence costs for staff and PG (R) students traveling to conferences, seminars or labs.

See the  CPD and disc travel policy.  Both types of application are treated the same way so an individual should only submit one application and use this form to do so.  The ACT and Finance Officer can provide advice.
