The School is committed to promoting and implementation a health work-life balance. This is enshrined in the School’s guidance on healthy work / life balance
The University publishes a policy on meetings and core hours. The timing of a meeting rests with the Chair and the members of that group however as a guide the following types of meetings should be scheduled for core hours:
- School Council / School Open Fora
- SSCCs
- Teaching Commitee
- Social events
Staff considering applying for an alteration to hours (flexi-time) or place of work (remote working) should consult the School Manager for advise.
The School adopts the University leave policy. Staff are invited to request leave with sufficient time for the necessary administration and approvals to occur. From 2018 all staff leave should be managed via Self Service.
