Publishing
The University is piloting a journal search tool to search for journals included in open access agreements or offer discounts on APCs. To benefit from any existing agreement you must be a corresponding author and member of staff or registered student at the time of acceptance.
Open Access publication costs
The School has limited research support funds available, some of this could be utilised to support open access publication costs. Authors must follow the following process before considering applying to the School for funds to cover Open Access publication costs (evidence of this may be requested). It is requested that authors consider which journal is best fit for the manuscript, and the costs associated with that journal.
- Open Access costs should be sought from research funders if they support open access publications as part of the funding application.
- The PI should determine if they could support the costs via any other funding they may have at the time.
- The PI should contact the Open Access team within the University to determine whether the publication costs could be supported from the central fund
- If the above routes are not successful in achieving funding an application may be made to the Research Investment Fund (please check for eligibility criteria).
