The Learning Technology Team has a selection of computer equipment available for short or long term loan. The equipment is available to current staff and students from the School of Medicine.
The equipment avialble for loan includes:
- Laptops
- Voice and video recorders
- Speakers
- Tablets
- Projectors
- Webcams and microphones
- A variety of cables, adaptors and convertors are also available.
A common scenario is for a student to request a loan of a laptop whilst theirs in in for repair. This is a perfectly acceptable request.
Booking
Email [email protected] to book any equipment.
The email should include:
- Item required
- Full name
- The reason for the booking
- University ID
- Dates from/to.
A confirmation email from a member of Learning Technology staff will be emailed to the borrower. The booked item will be available for collection at the IT office room 323 at the time requested.
A reasonable period of notification to borrow an item is preferred. Advance notice of at least 24 hours is ideal; however we will attempt to accommodate ‘on-the-day’ requests when necessary. If specific software is required to be installed on a laptop in advance, a longer notification time may be required. The borrower must know when the deadline is and return the item to the room 323 on time.
Please note that not all long term loans can be accommodated. This will depend on the demand on the item in question.
It is possible to extend the loan by emailing [email protected] at least a couple of days in advance. It is not guaranteed that the loan will be extended depending on other bookings.
