Desktop backups

All students and staff are responsible to make sure all their data is backed up. For further information and advice refer to the University website on backing up your data.

Additional support for staff using School of Medicine PCs.

For members of staff the backup software “SecondCopy” is available to all computer desktops within the school. This software is included by default on all domain build PCs provided by the School of Medicine. This software copies data from local account and place them on the internal server. This data is available only to the data owner and the systems administrators. This solution aims to protect only against hardware failure and should not be considered as an effective backup system.
